1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
Chilhowie, Virginia is more than just a dot on the map! It’s the perfect place to visit to have the chance to claim that you’ve seen more tractors than taxis in a day and stopped more for wildlife crossing the road than redlights–considering the town only has one stoplight! Southern hospitality isn’t lacking here and most people that you come across have probably known one another since kindergarten! Friday night football is the most exciting day of the week in this small town, second to the annual Apple Festival that brings the entire community together for a fun week of craft vendors, fair foods, games for the whole family, an intense band competition and a parade you don’t want to miss!

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
My wedding dress is tucked perfectly in a garment bag in the back of my closet and represents one of the happiest days of my life, but more importantly, the little hiding spot behind that beautiful dress is my most favorite thing in my closet! This empty space has been filled with the sweetest giggles and sneaky whispers during games of hide and go seek that I will hold close to my heart forever as my children grow older.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
First and foremost, I don’t love to cook! I’m actually very bad at it and it tends to make me very anxious. Although, I do love to bake and have a big sweet tooth. My favorite treat is Monster Cookies because they are packed with candies and something the whole family can help with!

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
I would love to have an (uninterrupted) hour a day to spend with my husband to simply talk and connect. As parents, we stay so busy on a day-to-day basis and always have little eyes and ears around us. An hour of time to share about our day, how we are feeling and what’s on our minds would be so nice!

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
As a former trauma nurse, I’ve experienced hundreds of “less than glamorous” moments that would make most people cringe. Thankfully, most will go their entire life without encountering the stories and situations I’ve been exposed to. The tip top of my list would easily be the day I was ordered to irrigate a wound infested with maggots. There wasn’t enough PPE in the world to make me feel less “icky” during that job.
